Learn the basics of manufacturing in this flex online class.
In this flex online course, you’ll get an introduction to manufacturing. This includes:
- How to facilitate safe work practices in industrial environments and control and improve quality in a manufacturing setting
- Fire safety, pressurized gases, electrical hazards, and safe machine usage
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policy
Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to earn the Safety Certification and the Quality Practices and Measurement Certification through the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC).
This is the first of two classes in the Certified Production Technician program.

Flex courses are online courses with flexible assignment submission, allowing students to manage their completion pace during the semester.
