Student Success and Advising Center

Choose to visit Vermont State University’s Student Success and Advising Center either online or at one of our campus locations. We offer easy, streamlined access to a range of services to help you reach your goals with ease, whether you learn in-person, online, or a combination of both.

Advising

At Vermont State, advising is all about the relationships you form. Here, you will have both a faculty advisor and a staff advisor to help you navigate your educational path, connect with your community, and take advantage of all of the opportunities Vermont State offers you. From building your course schedule, changing majors, and adding minors, to applying for an internship and networking with experts in your field, your advisors are by your side beginning day one.

Career Services, Applied Learning, and Internships

Vermont State University connects students and alumni with high-impact internships and applied learning opportunities, as well as help identifying the career path that will work for you. From exploring academic majors and minors to resume and cover letter review, mock interviews, and more, we’re here to help you achieve success as you define it.

Academic Support

At Vermont State University, we provide the individualized academic support you need to succeed. Your advisors and instructors are here to guide you, and we offer support in areas where you need a little extra help – from tutoring and skills clinics to help with time management and becoming a better test-taker. Additional opportunities are available through our TRIO Student Support Services and McNair Scholars Program for students who are the first in their family to attend college, are dependent upon financial aid to pay for college, and/or are from an underserved background.

Early College and Dual Enrollment Support

Vermont State University welcomes high school students to complete course work via three programs: Dual Enrollment Program, Early College Program, and Vermont Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

Disability Services

Vermont State University is committed to equitable access for students with disabilities. Our disability services are a natural extension of our mission. Disability services staff will answer your questions and guide you through the accommodations request process, including options for housing and technology to support your learning and more.

International Students

Vermont State University welcomes students from around the world, offering comprehensive advising support every step of the way — from application through student-based work authorization after graduation for F-1 and J-1 visa holders. We provide guidance, advising, and technical support to help our F-1 and J-1 students follow immigration rules and regulations, engage in our campus and local communities, access internships and career readiness opportunities, and are here to help answer all of your questions.
