Apprenticeship Opportunities
With Vermont Tech’s manufacturing apprenticeship programs, you can:
- Advance in your career. Get the skills you need to succeed in our work-friendly classes.
- Earn college credit. Build on these classes to earn your Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
- Enroll without an employer sponsor. Begin training in the classroom and find a job later.
Our apprenticeship options include: Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, and the GlobalFoundries Paid Apprenticeship Technician Program.
Additive Manufacturing
Unleash the full potential of additive manufacturing (AM) in your organization. This three-day, hands-on training will walk you through design guidelines for AM. You will learn how to use Generative Design and Lattice Structures to design high performance products within the CREO environment. Learn more.
Advanced Manufacturing
Our fully grant funded Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship prepares you to work in a facility that produces parts—think valves, injection molding, casting, etc. Learn more.
Industrial Maintenance
Our fully grant-funded Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship prepares you to work in a facility that creates products, like coffee, ice cream, cheese, beauty products, etc. Learn more.
GlobalFoundries Paid Apprenticeship Technician Program
Earn while you learn in GlobalFoundries’ Paid Apprenticeship Technician Program. Motivated high school graduates can apply for this direct-hire opportunity.
Participants will:
- Earn a full-time time salary (up to $21.50/hour)
- Take classes at no cost
- Earn college credits towards a two-year Associate Degree

Earn your SolidWorks & CNC Machining Certification by completing three trainings. Learn more.
Fiber Installer
This four-day training includes one day of classroom learning and three days of hands-on lab exercises focused on specific fiber optic outside plant disciplines. Developed as the “next level” of training, this provides more advanced knowledge and skills to students that have already had formal introductory classes or several years of experience working with fiber optics.
The training material is designed for advancing a technician’s fiber installation skills and technology knowledge. This includes introductory content for FTTx and xWDM system as well as OSP skills like emergency restoration and fiber characterization.

- ETA Fiber Optics Technician-Outside Plant (FOT-OSP) Certification
- BICSI Continuing Education Credits
- Light Brigade Certificate of Completion
